Portable Wi-Fi Router
Welcome back folks. Today I'm back with another topic in the world of computers and electronics and wanted to talk briefly about a little gadget I’m looking for that would make my life a whole lot easier over here. As far as I can tell they’re known as Wi-FI routers, the ones that run off the 3G or 4G signal that comes through an appropriate SIM card. See over here we can’t get Wi-Fi fitted it’s just too expensive due to our location but I met a friend last week (in a similar situation) who said they too were looking for a portable Wi-Fi router themselves but didn’t really know too much about them.
So after a bit of digging it turns out I can get one fairly cheaply. Naturally I’ll pick up one for my friend too, but basically one of these tasty little gadgets gives you a personal hotspot, which you can obviously take anywhere with you and get online through the SIM card that slots inside. The beauty of the Wi-Fi router is that once connected, you can share the internet signal on as many different devices as you like through your own personal hotspot. You can also allow others to connect and share the same internet connection, so the fact that it’s portable and can move from place to place is a real blessing – at least it is when you can’t get regular internet that is.
They cost around $25-$30 which is great as it’s a one off cost. Aside from that, choosing the right SIM with the best value for money package is really all there is to do. I’m going to pick a couple up in a few days and get connected, it’ll at least save me having to come into town to update the blog. I’ll keep you posted as always. Thanks for dropping by folks, until next time..
